Erica Spivey
Director of Development

Children's Home Society of Florida

The Presentation is geared toward educating people about the organizational aspects of the Children’s Home Society and how that structure sustains the programs we offer. For example, I talk about how a multi-service agency functions, how each program supports one another, present an organizational chart of all of our 100+ employees (chain of command), funding sources, and what it takes to serve over 1,200 local children and families through eight multi-faceted programs. She will go into detail about each program and how everyone in our community is affected by the troubles that exist and the services offered help break the cycle, heal pain, and find forever homes for the displaced children of Bay and surrounding counties.

Erica Spivey, Director of Development, Children's Home Society of Florida
Erica Spivey graduated from Florida State University, where she majored in Professional Communication and International Relations and Affairs. Before her current role as the Director of Development for the Emerald Coast Division of Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) she worked for The St. Joe Company and for Northwest Florida’s largest publishing company as a writer. Having a sense of purpose in the community is important to Erica. She currently serves on the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce Education Partnership Committee, the Bay Young Professionals Steering Committee, the Board of Directors for The Miracle League of the Emerald Coast, mentors at Bay High School, served as a United Way Loaned Executive, and is the President-elect of the Panama City Beach Rotary Club.
As the Director of Development at CHS, Erica has worked diligently to help educate the community about the CHS mission, values, goals and programs. She has also spearheaded an internal development movement to help educate employees about other programs within the division and to help boost employee morale and improve employee retention.  Erica is part of the morale committee, and she works closely with all program supervisors and directors to help them achieve program goals from a development standpoint.
Something many might not know about Erica is her affinity for travel. She has traveled extensively to locations including Lithuania, Beijing, Hong Kong, other remote Chinese cities, and to several European cities. When she is not fulfilling her passion of traveling the world she is busy brainstorming, communicating, and working on projects that challenge her. She is passionate about her faith, children, thinking twice about cultural norms, and her goals. Outside of being a workaholic, you can find her reading too many books at one time, collecting art, hosting an event, eating chocolate, listening to NPR, being a tea fanatic, and loving people.
Dixie Casford, Program Director, Children's Home Society of Florida
Dixie Casford graduated from Washington State University in 1995 with a degree in English and a minor in Education and graduated from Texas State University in 2004 with a degree in professional counseling.  In 2009, Dixie completed the Florida State University Harris Institute training to become an Infant Mental Health Specialist. She is currently attending Troy University working on her MBA.  Dixie was a teacher in Louisiana and Texas for 9 years before moving to Panama City in 2004 and joining the Children's Home Society of Florida as a mental health counselor for children.  Dixie became program
