The goal of the Workers Compensation system is for an injured employee to return to gainful employment.  This course will discuss legal requirements and procedures beginning with when the on-the-job injury is first reported to the Workers Compensation carrier and then issues which arise which can either promote or inhibit a successful return to work.  Recent legislative changes impacting what type of conditions are considered Workers Compensation injuries will also be discussed.  Additional topics will be addressed:

  • Discussion of transitional or modified duty work offers.
  • Discussion of separation of an employee who has suffered a Workers Compensation injury and potential impact for retaliatory discharge.
