Presentation Overview

Employers and human resources professionals must understand how domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking affect their workplaces.  Additionally, they should know what steps they can take to promote workplace safety, how to help victims to be safe, and consequently improve workplace quality and efficiency for all employees.

We will provide the facts about workplace violence and how it impacts employees and their quality of life at the workplace. We will cover the legal ramifications of workplace violence policies including, employer liability issues, laws in Florida that address this issue, and employee rights. We will explain how to develop an effective workplace violence policy, describe planning for working with security, and discuss resources like Employee Assistance Programs (EAP).

Finally, we will go over where to get help as an employer, and provide a sample policy and available resources so you as an employer and HR professional are "ready on day 1"
